I was just wondering why shoot a hog with a good catch dog locked on it? take out any margin of error and shoot it point blank and the dog is still gonna suffer from being so close to the muzzle.....step back and take aim ..BANG.. and dead catch dog....   I could be wrong, but it doesnt seem logical to me....  Even with a loose bay dog there's a chance of the dog getting shot .... and we all know how hard a really good dog can be to find.
