I grab a Sharpie and write my number on all my cut gear. I write it so it can be seen from a few feet away because I got a dog that won't go to some people. But I would not say someone does not care about their dog if they do it different. But I would not say they care about their dog either. Just dealt with someone today that judged me without knowing me. She will be looking for a new job. If I lost a dog I would hope someone was taking care of my dog like you are doing.
