If I had any question about the dog being agressive toward a child there would be no question about culling. If the aggression was only toward another dog  and only once then I would make sure to show him that wasn't allowed and any time he even looked at the other dog wrong I would let him know not to do it. In most cases you can teach a dog that fighting isn't good for him..
