i agree to an extent. i had a solid catahoula which was stocky type dog but not tall.
my buddy had his litter mate a leapord  which was lanky and leggy.
i had a leapord which was huge dog.
as far as size there no certain size.
as there registered there not regesterd as hound and some cur
there all just catahoulas so i believe there just ppl hear a different bark and decide its hound or cur.
not a set type dog.

this is my opion but dexter is close to it also
