Any foxhound breed will have more wind than the coonhound and cur breeds, they been bred to run fox all day and night or until their feet are wrecked. Most peeps have no idea about bottom on foxhounds and how far and how long they can run. Foxhounds used for coyotes were some of the first hog dogs down here I ever saw in the 60's when we had very very few hogs, races were 3 to 6 miles regularly when they got on a running hog and had to run him until his wind was broken and he bayed up.. Of course there are sorry foxhounds that cant even run track heads up and bark out of place as well too. Plus most people dont know the differnce between the way a coonhound runs a track and a foxhound so how would they know about long winded, have you ever looked a huge lunged wasp waisted July hound that regualrly catches yotes after a 2 to 8 hour race??? Curs are bred for that in the first place, if you think so get a hog training sack and have a race with somebody who has some good wolf dogs and see how far they get left behind after a couple of hours. When i went to the last Old line Black and Tan Foxhound Meet up in Ark they had several dogs still runiing after 24 hours on those trapped coyotes.
