Well, I know us gulf coast folks are pansies when it comes to what we think is cold weather, but down here we have cold humidity just like when we have heat and humidity. Seems like the hot and humid is worse than just hot, and cold humid is worse than just plain cold.

Anyway, I got the dogs bedded deep in hay and top dressed some oil on their feed to help it stick to them through the night. Chris used the air compressor to blow the water out of the overhead pipes, and all the buckets are full. The greyhound is in her sweater, and the horses are tucked in (except for the ones who are out tonight on round bales).

I think we are ready for a real cold night. Even though its miserable, I think about how much we need these freezes to help knock down parasites and fleas in the coming year.
Cheers
M

Same here Mandi, extra hay in the dog barrels, with a little extra feed. Horses in the barn and some in the pasture with a round bale and a wind block. I will still worry about them all night though, mostly because i feel kinda guilty sitting in a warm house with the heater blazing.  Sad
