It falls under distribution. The -1 exponent and the -4 exponent the negatives cancel out and the the exponent of 4 is distributed. 4^2=16 is the same as 2^2*2^2=16 is the same as 8^2/2^2=16 and so on the exponent can be distributed to the derivatives. Numbers are logical. Just do not use begs the question if you do not know what it means or I will go into an explanation of terms of logic. Just do not ask me to remember any names.
