I agree 100%.
My solution to the same problem is a multi-purpose dog. I use my dogs for squirrel huntin, coon huntin, and everything in between. The dogs get out a lot more and I'm always havin fun. I had a guy tell me today I needed some better hog dogs and I asked him why? They do everything I want them to do. Even if you just had some rat terriers or one cur dog. I've just seen too many people sink a ton of money into equipment and dogs and not have any hogs to hunt. I actually have a ranch with hogs on it but your still not gunna catch me spending money on a dog. Only equipment I've ever bought is a Garmin and really didn't need that. Just sayin', the more you set your self up to be a professional hog hunter, the harder the let down when you find out there's not enough hogs in your area or you lost your lease. I honestly wouldn't let a single person bring their dogs onto my ranch unless they were huntin with me. There's just too much at stake.
