My problem is that I just don't know anybody personally that has a great female that is breeding it. They hunt the good ones and use something else for breeding which is bass ackwards.
x2 and it makes NO SENSE to me.
Its risky ---I talked to an old Dogo breeder of years, he said "SON---by the time a bitch is 4 years old you should have a 2 year old daughter of her to replace her"--- NOW, that's a difficult thing if ya ask me, because some just cannot reproduce themselves or better which is the goal so I asked him ---"he said SON by the time a bitch is 4 years old you should have a 2 year old daughter to replace her--- now go think about that"
I guess he felt bad for my lack of brain cells and he further explained, a bitch is what will keep you going, MALES can be found anywhere a GOOD BITCH cannot be found that easy and if someone has one he ain't gonna give her up for no amount of money IF he knows what he has and what he is doing--- anyhow he says its best IF you take the risk and breed her ASAP get pups out of her and PROVE THOSE--- IF she cannot better herself then CLEAN UP and move forward---
the VALUE of a brood bitch is determined IN THE WHELPING BOX NOT in the woods ---ladies and Gentlemen, AGREE or DISAGREE with me that's is my belief--- I TEST my girls in a VERY controlled situation JUST ENOUGH to give me a warm fuzzy feeling then I let their SONS and daughters prove her, its worked well for me.
Then again its all about what is ones priority not everyone is a breeder or has interest in that, some folks want to HUNT and that's their priority they will HUNT everything they have to the ground and then go and buy more or get their dogs from someone who does breed or interest is breeding, as a hunter and as a breeder IF you can get a good person to work with you then its a WIN, WIN situation, the hunter gets its hunters and the breeder gets his dogs prov-en for him (no breeder can possibly work everything he produces).
