It happens specially if you show your dogs attention and he doesn't.  I sold 2 jam up dogs about 5 years ago for $2000 on trail for 2 weeks.  The guy told me the same he would know the first night.  HE called me the next day and said he wanted to bring them back.  I said no problem.  When the guy met me i asked him what did they do?  He said well i took them hunting with my dogs but i let them out first and they left the truck went out 600 or so yards and struck a really good barr hog at night also!  (I don't run mine at night much) I said so whats the problem?  He said well when i showed up with my other 5 bay dogs and 2 catch dogs they came off the hog...  I said man if you where fighting in the woods in the dark and 7 strangers came up on you in the dark what would you do. 

My suggestion is some people know dogs and some don't. Another note if he would have just let his catch dogs run in it would have been over.  Why hunt 15 dogs at a time.  lol
