I have heard the same thing about my dogs for years and years .  I don't even keep a fat puppy never have a nice good pup but not yard fat.  Your dogs look great man.  I never have had a heat problem with my dogs ever and mine most all wear not bay but cut vest.  People would be amazed at how hard and how long it really takes to get the fat out of the organs and from around the organs once a dog is hog fat ! Its not the otter fat its the fat you cannot see that will ruin your dogs.
