I live in Okla. I had a litter last May it was her first one. My kennels are on dirt & covered. All most no direct sunlight gets in them. I had a nice welping box for her. Anyway she had 12 pups & after the 2nd day she dug a huge hole under her box. Her box was 4x4 the hole was like 2 foot deep. I bet it was 10 degrees cooler in that dirt. All the pups made it just fine. Wolves all ways have their pups in a den she just made her own. Good luck with your pups!! Greg W
