BigL these would be great dogs even as a beginner you should be able to catch hogs with them once they are old enough.  No one in the USA really one out hunts.  So, I guess if you want to try your luck with a method perfected in another country, in terrain that differs greatly, these pups will keep you protected.  The parents are not hunted one out but both have caught hogs solo in the woods.  I have seen both grand parents (on the sire's side) run down hogs and catch and hold by themselves till I got there and tied or killed the hog.
