" a bold , confident dog dont have to chew one up to get the job done "

are you saying that a dog that knows where to be , when to get there and how much pressure he should apply should be the kind of dog everyone should start with AND  breed for Huh?  Grin Grin Grin  ( AND A BIG )  Wink

That is what I breed for, I am not saying that style is the best for everyone, but that is the key for me to a really good cow dog, that and a dog that has a lot of natural circle and will NEVER bite a cow that is in the herd.

You can see when that Hereford cows starts to walk and gets 3/4 out of the bunch and two dogs face up and ask her to turn around and then tell her. The moment she gives ground the dogs instantly drop her and get to the other side. That is perfect work in my eye. Some folks think that a dog that bites or hangs all the time is a tough dog, to me that type of dog is weak because he has no other tooks to use other than his teeth because of his poor bay style.
