English Pointer bird dog, but they turned her into a real solid hog dog before breeding... her main fault was she'd yip a bit once she jumped a hog... a trait that shows it self in varying degree in about 2/3 of this line... tolerable, just undesireable
I feel the pointer/cur cross is ideal for smaller property hunting... you can hunt a thousand acres all day with one and not worry about your dog leaving the county... most of the time

The hustle/go that a EP throws is really fun to hunt with, picking one out that's built right for hoggin' is the key I think... at least that's what I'll be lookin' for the next one I cross back in
A buddy of mine did a cross similiar and they all turned out as red leopard as red leopard gets. he even "line bred" the dogs again and they all came out red leopard, hes got three generationa and everyone that dont know no better will argue with him till they are blue in the face they are pure leopard.

Most of them made dang good dogs but the yippin did come out in prob a third of the pups.. His are built like your chub dog, stocky and block headed.. Must be the cur.. Damn fine looking dogs and from your posts they know their job.. Wanna trade for some pot lickin coon/dillo dogs?? lol
