Hey three notch,....just found your post...sorry to be so long to reply. We hunt near Hawkinsville, GA.
I gather my two up after about 30 minutes but we still cannot find his. I check my GPS and we are 2.2 miles from the first bay. Then a guy calls after about an hour and he has his dogs and they are 5 miles away. The young one is cut some but not real bad.
So I don't know exactly how far we ran this hog but it was along way.
This is why I don't want long winded, long running dogs....it almost never ends up with a caught hog, but often ends up with lost, stolen or injured dogs. Just my opinion...and what works for me. I do understand that y'all folks from TX and OK often have huge tracts of land to hunt consisting of hundreds or thousands of acres and a dog like that can sometimes be an asset....but just not for me. Glad y'all got you dogs back Mike.
