Huh?? The length of the antenna is how the tuning is determined and set.

Having said that, the guy at the radio shop I went to told me that tuning the antenna to a certain frequency only has to do with transmitting...not receiving.  He's the full meal deal..doing it for YEARS...sports a pocket protector containing lots of small screwdrivers and all that, so I figure he knows what he's talking about.
