i never had to start a cd on catchin . just put em on a pig to see where they would grab . if he done bit youre dog and not the hog me personally he would be gone cd;s are a dime a dozen. i hunted 7 years wiyhout one have two good ones now . and i started them in the woods .while actually hunting no bay pen.
Poor advice Obviously not trained many young dogs, this (dime a dozen) phrase that keeps coming up not just on this post but others too to me just shows a serious lack of respect for the dogs especially a pup that young. In my 20 yrs of hog hunting I found that the pride comes from raisin and makin something out of a dog yourself not just buying one that is already doin it. The catch dog is the one u have to lead and the one that takes care of business in the end, I want one I trust when I go to a hog and a bulldog mite b a dime a dozen but a good catch dog is not. He is young let him grow up a little, he coulda just bit the dog cause of all the new excitement and rucus and was probably just nervous it's not uncommon in pups that young he will come around I'm sure
