I would recommend not doing what I did. I went out and got dogs. That was because I could not get people to take me with them. But I did not find this board fast enough. I would say don't get any dogs. Go hunt with people and see how they hunt and how their dogs work together. Not Just one person but several people. I have burned lots of diesel to go hunt with people. Help them work the bay dogs in a pen. That will help you learn about the hogs more than it helps the dogs. Before you know it you will have more dogs than you can handle. Only pay for a dog that you go looking for. People have unplanned litters and you can get puppies for free or cheap if they know you. If you take a free or cheap dog and sell it you will not get another one. The most important thing you can do is treat people the best you can. I have dogs I payed for that I will listen to the people that sold me the dog. So go help out dragging hogs and working pens. The rest will fall into place.
