Parvo does not live that long in the yard. It is very contagious and people can carry on their shoes and clothes. A dog can pass it through the fence with no contact at all.
When I lost a puppy to Parvo I got every dog I had a Parvo shot. I bleached where the dog was laying when I found him. I threw the kennel away I used to take him to the vet. I washed my truck out with water and soap. I have had three more puppies through that all had their Parvo shots on time and no problem. It is so easy to spread that you have to get all the Parvo vaccinations on time.
