mine only have a little airedale in them but still have alot of hair. I will say I don't think its the hair that is the problem as much as conditioning and keping electrolytes in them. My female Deuce heats up faste than any other dog, but its about the way she hustles 90 to nothing all the time, she cools down fast and goes back to it, repeat the process over and over.
I notice when my fuzzy dogs are really hot, they will get in mud or water ut then they like to keep moving and i believe that they are using their own cooling system, so when a dog is hot I don't try to confine them as much as get them out and move them around in the air or in cool water, but sitting still, I believe hols the heat worse for the fuzzy dogs.
also I big time BELIEVE in the electrolytes- summer and winter
