i have it in my yard as long as they have had there first shot they should be fine
This is not true....pups that have had even 3 or 4 rounds can still get it...I have had a rough year with parvo and pups... I also have a 10 month old pup that was in teh same pen with two of his littermates that died of parvo. He was laying in the discharge and never got sick... Parvo is a tricky SOB
Parvo has an incubation period of at least a week or so. The pup can be infected with parvo and the pup looks fine and he gets the parvo vaccine but the pup will come down with the parvo and probably die anyway.
Another virus that never gets talked about is the corona virus. It is hard for the VET to identify the difference between Parvo and Corona because they are so much alike.
I lost pups back in the 1980's to corona but I give the 7 in 1 plus corona. It should be called the 8 in 1 vaccine. Haven't lost a pup since to either virus.
The 7 in 1 is much cheaper that the 8 in 1 but is useless as far as I am concerned.
I suspect that most pups that die from parvo are really dying from coronavirus and not parvo. I also believe that most of the folks that are loosing pups blame the 7 in 1 vaccine. The thought is that the vaccine was bad...I NEVER USE THE 7 IN 1...
