Noelle,
Sometime in 1980 or so Parvo struck for the first time and many dogs and pups were lost. A few years later corona struck and did the same. Once the vaccines came out I haven't lost a pup since then due to either disease. I haven't bred any pups since 2007 though.
I did lose more than half of one litter and more than likely it was coccidiosis. The reason why I don't think it was parvo or corona is because it took more than 3 or 4 days to lose a pup.
Prevention is the best policy when raising pups.
I start worming at 1 week of age and worm weekly which also includes the mama dog. I also raise them on concrete and keep the kennel clean. I only give 2 shots and that is it.
The reason why I keep bringing up corona is because everyone on this forum has been talking mostly about parvo and the vets have been calling all this sickness parvo and this leads me to believe that in some instances it could be corona. I made the mistake years ago of only giving the 7 in 1 but learned quickly that that will kill pups due to ignorance.
Since I got on this forum all I have heard about has been about parvo and not one time have I seen someone talk about corona. However, I will say that I haven't read every thread or post that has been posted on here...
Just like anyone else would do... just trying to save someone the errors I have made in the past.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
