one method of keeping pups hydrated that i use is a product called re-sorb for scouring calves, after forcing fluids into sick pups most time they just throw iy back up .the [re-sorb ] is a powder mix with glucose vita.electrolite you mix together  .after mixing you get a big syring and fill the loose skin around the neck with the solution .there body will absorb the fluid as needed. i was taught this by a vet years ago when the vet had a dog on fluids IV drip and didn't want to stay over nite and watch to make sure the dog didn't pull it out. this is what the vet would do . he used glucose wich the re-sorb has in it plus vitamins and electrolites . this has helped me through some ruff spots even did it to my cd after he over heated he was sick and would drink water and throw it up repeatedly . this is my method that i use myself after consulting vets  my best advice is to consult a vet on dog matters when possible. before using some ones thoughts on the subject. thers dang good advice on here just get several oppinions for yourself first. some work some dont.
