 My aunt used to make hot water cornbread and it was just seasoned cornmeal and she would pour boiling water into it and stir until it made a thick batter and then she would let it set for a little while to cool and thicken. Then she would make patties and fry them. They were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.


 I will get on facebook and ask her to be sure.
