Wild and crazy deal there, I have seen that many times though where people feel like they have to rear back.  I know of another man that had his hand stabbed just like yours and I have heard of several dogs getting stabbed.  So much of a problem we started telling new people right off the bat to NOT rear back and then we showed them exactly what we meant.  I hope your hand heals quickly, nice hog too!
