How do you think Parvo got on your yard? Well we just moved so i think it was already there...BUT my vet did tell me when i recently took one of our pups in that flys are being linked to spreading it...they land on dogs feces and it picks up the virus, then they go flying around and eventually maybe get to a dogs water bowl or food bowl..another wya is you could be out somewhere and happen to walk where the virus is from someone else being there and take it back to your own yard...its very weird...
How were the dogs kept? ( on chains, in kennels, concrete floor, dirt floor, etc. ) All 6 pups were in a pen in the yard...it was really a sectioned off portion of my yard when they got it. My other dog that actually lives inside with me had gotten it first.
Where the dogs/pups that got Parvo first up to date on shots? No. Unfortunatly they werent..I really think it would have helped save them if they were..only my 6 month old lacy lived..
If any other dogs got Parvo, were they also up to date on shots? Well adult dogs that get parvo usually only show it thru signs of diarreah and MAYBE some lethargy...but some adult dogs dont have the immunity to it as others. One of our other dogs showed diarreah but now he is fine.
Whats the oldest dog you've had to get Parvo? 6 months. all the ones who didnt make it were three months.
Have you had any new litters or new dogs come on the yard afterwards that got Parvo? Well i just got a new pup...she is 4 months but utd on shots.. she shows no sign at all. We also ahve a litter of 1 week old pups...i guess we will know if sthey get infected once they get weaned...puppies dont generally get it when nursing...there is just a little chance they can depending on the mothers immunity.
And also, now I am bleaching EVERYTHING. Caroet, grass, tile floor, EVERYTHING. I got color safe bleaach for the inside but normal bleach for the yard. Yeah it killed out my grass but for one, whith the weather it was already dead and two, I would rather have dead grass than dead dogs...i spray everything a few times a week.
YOUR VERY LUCKY IF YOU HAVENT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH IT

...i never did until our last litter of pit pups died...all 6 of them... oh and also, pitbulls, and other bully breeds and SOME german shepherds are more pikely to get the virus...Sorry i know a lot about it ...im going to school to be a vet..
