so roughly $3.65 a lb using Chris' $800 purchase price figure? Feed costs so much lately I have to think you can buy beef for cheaper than you can feed it out. We bought a steer a few years ago and fed him out and processed him at 1200lbs and that was the toughest son of a gun I have ever had. Maybe it was what I was feeding? It broke me from wanting to do that again. But that steak sure looks good.
Yes it is cheaper to go buy it from the store, but he knows exactly how that steer was raised and fed out.
