I'm kinda thinking like Tom here,....a mad jaguar is quite a formidable critter to be in close quarters with. I'd enjoy trying a spear out on a hog though,...I think that would be a good test of one's ability to stand your ground.
Sneaking in close enough to be lethal with a spear will be a task I'm thinking. Wish I could try it out sometime.....
You have a good idea there PBR about the fiberglass handle....that would be the way to go I think, and I think I would prefer it to be rigid as opposed more limber and flexible....I had several spears as a kid that I made from various materials and I think that a rigid handle would be more accurate than a flexible one....just my opinion.
