DJ it's a little known and very well concealed urban myth that Honda four wheelers do in fact come from the manufacturer with brakes. I have owned and ridden several hondas but have never been able to prove the brake myth. Whether or not they have them may never be proven but it's a fact that they don't need them.
But high lifter does sell an after market disc brake add on that I would go with before fixing the mythical drum brakes.
Just having a little fun with you. I can't ever remember having brakes. Even when we got a new 4 wheeler, I was so used to just down shifting that I never used the brakes much. We used to have a honda 185 three wheeler back in the day and I loved that thing. Nothing beats a honda.
