 From what I always understood a gyps heat cycle is 3 parts over 3 weeks, first week swelling begins and a lil bleeding, 2nd week bleeding clears up, clear fluid is present, still swollen. This is the week I understand is the only time period the gyp can be bred or the best chances the pregnancy will take. 3rd week the gyp starts to come out of heat, less fluid present and swelling is going down.  You say by your timing she only has a few days left to breed, is it her 2nd week in heat? If its her 3rd week she may not be able to be bred this cycle.
