I think your tree may be from beavers, I have never seen a tree chewed up like that before though....pretty interesting.  Good hogs and pics, keep hunting them and they will start working as a good pack.

I don't think there are beavers around Ft. Bend county.  And the tree didn't appear bitten into.  There were also several other trees in the immediate area in various stages of healing from the same type chewing.
