Ok it was equipment failure that caused the problem,but what would yall do if your neighbors dog broke his chain and came to your house and tore up one of your good dogs? There would be no question then about who started it.And you probably would not give the dog a second chance.

A dog dont know where your property lines are.If a dog is on a chain ,the area his chain reaches is his territory.When he gets loose he will often try to socialize with all other dogs he sees or hears.It dont matter what dog started the fight ,the dog off of his chain shouldnt have been there,but they are animals and they do what their instincts lead them to do.A dogs territory ends where they loose a fight.
