I used to have some fair dogs in my back yard...and I was hard nosed about breeding right and keeping the best no matter what. Then in 2007 I thought long and hard and got rid of all my dogs and my wife cried.

I thought I never would get back in and it has been about 1.5 years now that I have gotten back in... Smiley and I probably will have some decent dogs by the next 3 or 4 months but nothing like I owned before.

I am a firm believer in breeding my own because that is where the very best come from as long as the bloodline and selection process is right.

The other good dogs come from friends and they usually are free or very reasonably priced...

I have seen some good dogs get sold that shouldn't of been sold because these dogs were the kind that are hard to replace... Usually it was young men that lucked out into a good dog and really didn't know that good dogs are hard to find or replace...until after the fact...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
