Thanks for all of the input, I have made my decision and I will he keeping the pup. I made this decision based on two things, one is he is too far away for me to be able to assist or mentor him with the pup and the other is his lack of experience with dogs in general. He seems like a good kid, just not enough experience for me to be comfortable putting that type of responsibility in his hands.
