I think it totally depends on the gators you're dealing with. If they have a good food source, they should stay by the water. Either way, just so you know, gators can and will climb chainlink like it is not even there. I almost bought land on a prairie like area. It had lakes and ponds all over it. They were infested with gators. I elected to pass, as I kept thinking about how much the dogs like to swim. In the Summer, they would have lived at the pond. Briefly anyway.  Evil
