All this "stopping a dog from barking on track" seems like a sure fire recipe for ruining a good dog if not done with great care and understanding of what you're doing. In my opinion,....there are dogs that will bark on a track, and in varying degrees, and there are those that never will....period. We kill hogs with open dogs....hounds....and I have cur dogs that are almost silent, we run them together and kill hogs, a lot of hogs. It's just not that big of a deal for me.....it is for some I understand. If this dog is going to be open to some degree when on a track, then sell her to someone that doesn't mind it,....and then she can enjoy hunting and being who she really is. Just don't ruin a really good dog by trying to make her into something she is not.
x 10. I have silent and open mouth dogs and have caught just as many with one kind as the other.
