Yeah Chris I agree that scars aren't exact proof, but at the same time, pics like a tailgate, four wheeler, man touching or standing next to, or really any known object helps with perspective. Im not coming about this rudely I hope, just wanting for younger hunters to see some truly good hogs with more accurate estimates of their real weights. I don't like hearing stories of 30 point bucks, 1000 pounds feral hogs or east Texas girls who've never squatted in a bar parking lot

Your first post mentions domestic hogs... I can't explain it, but I look at a 200+# domestic, and it looks like a 125# feral to me. I could never guess the weight on a domestic and be close. However, after weighing so many ferals, I can usually guess within about 10%.
I have done the "guess the weight" drill so many times, that you can tell right away the people that don't ever actually weigh a hog.
If you ask a deer hunter the weight of a hog, you can usually cut their guess in half. Not sure why, but it's been my experience.
