when i first started i shot them. then i tried a spear. now i only shoot the real bad ones that i cant take without help because i almost always hunt alone. When you get that first one by the back legs and feel that adrenalin when you are committed to flip it and its to late to turn back or a new guys eyes as big as saucers when you do it. I love it i always lose stuff and forget where i am cross creeks without remembering it. its awesome be worth getting cut for.
