I used a Bull Mastiff for a while and he worked out fine. I got him same as you… dropped off from a pet home and he didn’t want a thing to do with a hog until I put a terrier in to bay it up then it was game on. Kind of dominated a hog too… He couldn’t walk on leash all day but if you’re dropping him from a rig his endurance was as well if not better that some bulldogs. Meaning he did great with 1000 yard sprints and catch but didn’t like a walking pace for 3 miles. Just not built for walking. They take a lot of room on the rig though and are slow to mature. If the line hasn’t been watered down too much they can be fun!
