I think u should retire them when they loose the want I knew a Guy that hunted a 9 y dog with no teeth she loved its kinda preferance I think.and as far as not hunting at all it may not be cut out for  it if it where me I would just keep taking it in the woods and work it in bay pen with other good dogs it will either pick up and hunt or it wont
