My turn.  Grin

Why be a second string jacked up banana republic country of our own having to live next to a bunch of backwards corrupt, drug snorting, freeloading moocher buttholes on one side and Mexico on the other border??!?!?  Cheesy

If we retain our statehood, we retain the right to lord it over the lesser states that we are the best!!!
It's like when a small town high school linebacker is on top of the world while in school, when he graduates he's gonna be bald, fat with a ugly wife and annoying kids who he drives around in his Chrysler T&C.

Poor fella falls asleep at night watching Law & Order SVU with a pint of bluebell strawberry ice cream dreaming of his days as the king of the dairy queen.

Let's stay a state and stay #1

 Grin Grin Grin

if texas were it own country the first thing to do is rid ourselves of all the animal rights activist, peta included...send them all to california...and bring back chicken fighting... Smiley and then we would go to war with mexico and put them under TEXAS rule...no more illegals period....not even legally from any country...the borders will be closed until further notice...you can come visit, vacation and spend your money here but you can't homestead or buy property here... Shocked Smiley

Rueben,

I've got a question for you, as it seems you have been involved in the Tex-Mex culture.   I've asked my machinist, and a few other mexican friends and never received what I felt like was an educated answer.

This has to do with Mexican pride.   I've observed many immigrants, many of them here illegally (overstayed visas) that pay homage to Mexico by flying the flag, decals on their trucks, etc.   Why, if Mexico is so grand, did they come to Texas?
I'm a native Texan, and have lived here all my life, with the exception of a one year stint in Wyoming as a child. So I don't fully comprehend the point of flying a flag for a county that one doesn't even live in.   If, God forbid, I had to move to California, I don't believe I would be flying a Texas flag, and if I was to move to old Mexico, I wouldn't fly the Texas flag...  Seems weird to me to see the Mexican flag flying in US soil...  Is it just a cultural thing?
