i got 42 pound short legged pit , an he gets through brush faster than all the other dogs catches an hasnt been draged around yet , the hog may walk in circles but thats about it , i have a big stag i use with the lil pit , he works good in clear stuff an the lil bulldog hits the brush good , but if i had to only use one it would be a small catch dog easy to carry through fences , deep creeks or anything like that
I never have understood this, big dogs walk under fenced easialy. My favorite CDs are primarly, above all else ATHLETIC and hard. Seems to be most of them go 60-90 lbs. Short legs will get picked up and turned into a dish rag in the wind, not that you cant catch a boat load of pigs with a short legged cd but taller cleaner holding dogs are hard to beat once you have owned a good one.
All that said, the first time I saw a "real pit" from an old game line where they are 30- maby 50lbs and not what the majority of us use I changed my mind, they could run all day and bite so hard it crippled 300 lb hogs.
