Just had 10 of 11 dogs get it and it will spread like wildfire. Doxycycline is the only antibiotic I found that will work. Had dogs on Amoxicillin, Cephlaxin and Clindamycine and none of those work. If you don't get them all cured they will just keep catching it again from one another. Robitussin DM 3cc's three times daily ( I used the dollar store brand) and Doxycycline like Monty said was the only solution I found. Based on my experience, it does not go away on its own when you have multiple dogs. I've owned dogs in some shape or form all my life and had never had a problem with it until last month.
One vet told me you cannot cure it.
Another gave me a bottle of Cephlaxin.
A third gave me the Doxy.
Good luck and when you're over it, I'd spend the money and give all your dogs the intranasal Bordatella vaccine.
