My thoughts get all knotted up on this topic.  I don't see the need to keep a dog alive and in misery just for my inability to let go.  Then the emotions of when I had to have mine put down flood me.  Logic leaves.

i was always told "dont you get another puppy if you cant accept it to die in the end."
