I run a Honda eu2000 genset to power a 13500btu ac on my lq horse trailer.
It will run the ac, a 32" flatscreen tv/dvd, or a 1500 watt space heater for 8 hours on 1 gallon of gas.
I have two of them, that can be coupled together to double the output when needed.
The Honda eu2000 runs about a grand each, and are quieter than the ac...
You can also hook up a five gallon outboard fuel tank and have a total of 6 gallons and a run time of ~48 hours.
