In the woods just make sure the trailer is not as wide as what is pulling it. I prefer a trailer to have extra room on the sides. I would put the dogs on the Ranger but usinf two feet is not a bad idea. Six feet may not be too long but I would add a set of wheels on the back for those crazy spots. Like a set of dolly wheels. You never know where you might have to back up.
