Are you putting them on fresh sign? or is there no sign at all? I would say it is good for them to keep being in the woods and getting excersise, but always coming out without a hog might not be good. May want to throw em in a pen and let them bay something up, or run a mock hunt for them to keep em on their toes... Just a thought.
Ok thanks may have to do that since most of my dogs are young dont want them to think we are just going in the wood to run n play
Well if they are young, and are hunting like they should, but just don't know what they are looking for the mocks could turn them on... I personally think that a pup (anything under 2 years IMO) needs to be started on mock hunts and maybe a pen bay or two... that way they know what a hog is, and know what a bay sounds like... Yes, mocks are a good way to see what your dog has and doesn't, but its also a better way for them to realize what they are out there for and give them an idea of what they should be doing. The blood and tracks should take care of the rest... JMO
