I am on the opposite end...test and analyze each pup and hope to pick the best...a breeding program is only as good ad the pups selected...if selected right then the best of the best from that selection process will eventually get you where you want to be...
The only way to truly better a program with the best possible dogs is to raise the whole litter yourself and cull for what you want. It's not possible for most including myself, so anything besides that is only making you feel better about the pups you're picking, but in reality I don't see it doing much good, because it's all about how each and every pup individually gets there start and excels from there.
