Thank you t bob I really have never tried to start a cd. So that is my fault for tryin to start her ..I guess ill start asking before I do next time.. guess your right Bout internet talk on that subject .
You didnt do anything wrong by starting your pup early. It all boils down to personal preference. There are several of us on here that have multiple generations of proven catch dogs and most of us start pups early in order to evaluate our litters and keep things moving in the right direction. You just have to be smart about it and be mindful of there teeth. The training method i use has worked well and i havent had an issue with teeth at all. When u can give them exposure to there future job with out putting them at risk, it gives them an edge when u do take them to the woods for the real deal at a year old. Really no different than doing pig drags with cur pups. Feel free to pm me if you would like the details on what has worked for me. I would be happy to help.
